Our best travel tip for Colombia is to ignore its bad press

Sadly, owing to its associations with the drugs trade, Colombia has received such a universally accepted bad press, that few people would consider holidaying there.
However, tourists who are intrepid enough to take what they read in the press with a pinch of salt return from their visits to Colombia full of praise for the country. Traveling  by organized package tours increases the chances of a holiday being a safe experience.
In reality,  those who do holiday in this country find it a heady mix of elegant cities, magnificent tropical and alpine national parks, lively nightlife and fantastic shopping.
